Welcome to Happy Rabbit
Wooden Top farm started on its Eco course in 22 June 1997 and has one priority ...
'to create an agricultural holding that will make a difference to peoples lives'
it is emerging to become a fore runner in utilizing the avenues of UK government and E.E.C. incentives such as
-
organic scheme
-
stewardship scheme
-
woodland scheme
-
rural enterprise scheme
These schemes have helped Wooden Top farm to an unique opportunity in creating a holding that can make a difference to peoples lives, environmentally, educationally and spiritually.
The land which Wooden Top farm occupies in Somerset is some 450 feet above sea level. Strangely being so elevated it has a history of being part of the sail industry of the famous West Coker area many centuries ago. i.e. the growing and drying of flax, which was used in the making of sails for the tall ships. This area was the first area in the country to be offered a shilling subsidy. because its flax could produce the whitest cloth.
